Darwin Ice Hockey set a new international high this week when they accepted an invitation to meet with senior management of the Ice Hockey Federation of Latvia. Representative from Darwin’s own ‘World Champion’ (social) club are in Latvia’s capital city, Riga, for intensive training. They have a promotional game scheduled on the Jungfrau Glacier in Switzerland on 17th-July where other members of the team will gather for the big event.
Darwin representatives presented the Latvians with souvenirs of the visit, including team puck and stubby holders. The most generous Latvian hosts honoured their Darwin guests with autographed commemorative books, puck and scarves. Training has resumed!
